Bridge Plugs
Bridge plugs are used to create a barrier in a well to stop the flow from an aquifer.
When used for the abandonment of old wells, the plug ensures that the well can be properly cemented. Typically, an AGE inflatable bridge plug is run and inflated using a drill pipe which is then disconnected via a left hand back-off or direct shear sub.
For a permanent plug, cement grout may be placed on top of the inflated
plug. Other plugs can incorporate deflation and retrieval systems. AGE
also produce bridge plugs suitable for running on hose, poly pipe and
even Wireline systems.
Each plugging program is carefully considered in light of its special circumstances, ensuring the most appropriate solution.
