AGE Developments design and manufacture a range of inflatable bridge plugs. These permanent plugs have the advantages of small relative run-in diameter, large setting range and the ease of installation which is typical of AGE inflatable packers.
These bridge plugs were specifically designed for the plugging of wells prior to abandonment, as part of usual cementing procedures.
External Casing Packers (ECP)
These packers are built with a large internal diameter, allowing them to be slipped onto a casing joint and secured using a high strength, filled epoxy resin. This design provides a means of installing a casing packer without welding or threading. Best of all, the customer supplies the casing, retaining ultimate control over the quality of this all-important well component. Packers are normally inflated by means of a small bore control tube run on the outside of the casing, so there's no holes in the casing due to port collars or the like.
For a somewhat unusual operation, AGE designed and built what may be the largest high pressure inflatable packers in the world. The operation involved opening up 2.5 metre diameter piles that had partially collapsed during driving. Apart from the structural need for opening, these piles also needed to be drilled through for installation of secondary insert piles.
