For naturally gravel packed water bore designs, AGE offers M-Packers as a superior alternative to the old K-rubber method to provide a permanent annulus seal between the telescoped screen riser and bore casing.
M-Packers were designed after witnessing many instances of old technology K-rubbers being wiped off the screen riser during screen installation as result of frictional interference with the water bore casing during deployment. While K-rubbers are at best glued and secured with Band-It straps, M-Packers are vulcanised directly to the riser pipe to ensure a robust bonding interface. Additionally, while K-rubbers have only 2 sealing ribs, M-packers incorporate several sealing ribs to ensure a proper seal is achieved.
Standard M-Packers incorporate a flare at the top of the screen riser pipe to ensure a smooth lead in for any equipment to be run downhole following bore construction, avoiding the likelihood of hang-ups. Inline M-Packers can also be produced where no lead in flare is utilised for specialist applications.
AGE M-Packers are available in a large range of sizes and materials, with a rubber sealing diameter machined specifically to order.
All water bore equipment is manufactured from stainless steel materials and potable water grade rubber compounds compliant to AS/NZS:4020.
M-Packers can be made upon request where all components are required to be non-metallic PVC.
The rubber seal M-Packer incorporates several sealing ribs to ensure a proper seal is achieved.
The top end sub incorporates a machined lead in to reduce the likelihood of hang-ups for future tooling.
PVC M-Packers are available in a large range of sizes with the rubber diameter machined specifically to order.
